650/X-2 650sx wont start (diaphragm?)

so i started the jetski before going to the river, 10 min drive and in the water and it doesnt start. So today I checked some things, it has compression and spark, i also just replaced started, it does turn over, but it doesnt get gas when i check the spark plugs, I did pour gas straight into the carb and it didnt start but im not sure kinda new to it, so i took apart the carb and cleaned it all out and also took off the intake manifold and checked the reeds everything seemed good nothing cracked or staying open. So any suggestions would be great, im not sure what the diaphragm is suppose to look like but it looked a little deflated and had some creases.
Thanks

...chaos? Its Fair!
Sounds stupid but are your lines hooked up in the right directions? Is the little cup filled with gas and is gas coming into the carb? If all yes I would grab a carb rebuild kit and rebuild the carb.

the cup your referring to as the overflow thing above the gas tank? and yup the lines are all hooked up right, and that was going to be my next choice but i just wanted some other opinions, and gas is getting into the carb. thanks

Check you one way check valve that is between your tank and water separator, you should be only able to blow air through one way. Check everything from you tank to the carb.

^is the needle in the carb sticking down? I had that problem with my 650 last summer...went through all the trouble shooting things you are going through then bought a rebuild kit..worked well.

uhhh dont remember ill have to take it a part again and look, i was also thinking that the woodruff key could have came loose or broken and throwing off the timing because it was backfiring like a mother when i went down to the river and it had never done that before.

Broken woodruff key gents (made our own, had it started for a few seconds but then it was cuttin out when I gave it gas, ordered a rebuild kit so hopefully she will be purring soon.
