701 cases help

I'm having a hard time assembling my superjet 701..
I had the original set of cases out of my 2010 superjet.. had them powdered and went to install the crank and noticed one of the bearing pins was pushed all the way into the cases.. tried heating it to 400 and pulling the pin but failed on multiple attempts.. gave in and ordered a set from a 2008 ski pins looked great. Got them back from the Coaters, started to install them and we CANNOT get the damn bearings to set.. that are my options here it's a brand new re man sbt crank from jet maniac. I have a brand new full bore top end and ADA head so I really don't wanna just "send" these bearings... I want to know that these things are locked in place

Attached are the first set of cases with pushed in pin and the new set

I have seen sbt and wsm cranks where a bearing was not quite pressed all the way on, not allowing the bearing to sit in the pin. Not off by much, but enough to not mesh

I would reach out to Chris. He is always so helpful with stuff like this. I got a SBT crank from him last year and the problem we found was the large SBT C clip holding the bearing would not fit in the cases. Luckily I had the old OEM crank and Chris told me to swap c clips and everything went in fine.

Just removed the sbt c clip and it popped right into place. Thank you man

Sounds like something that needs to be brought up with @JetManiac and SBT if they are using bad c-clips on their cranks. I know Jet Maniac will stand behind his parts.

We saw it with a few cranks and brought it to SBT's attention before. Haven't seen that issue in several years now. The fitment is of the clip was off such a small amount that it was fine in 3 out of 4 cases tried. Swapped out clip and no issue.

Unrelated to this issue, powder coating cases can cause issues because of the high heat involved especially if they are not bolted together when heated and cooled.
