701 e box cut wires

I just bought a blaster that someone had cut and poorly spliced the ebox to the stator wires. So without thinking I disconnected the wires and now I'm left with 2 solid green wires without a stripe on either one and dont know which to connect together. Dies it make a difference which green goes to the other green?

While the wires are cut add a water proof connector rather than splicing them back together. Sure makes it easy to remove engine or the ebox with out removing them together.

I bought a box of 5 prong wires but when they arrived the gauge was a little smaller than the stock wires. Think it would be an issue?

Depends, what gauge did you get?

The stock wires are a #16 for all colored wires and a #14 for the ground.
Current is minimal on the colored wires so you might be fine with as small as a#18 but I wouldn't go any smaller than #14 on the ground.

According to this chart I found by googling it, 2.5mm is equivalent to a #14 which would be perfectly fine.
But did they mean the overall wire size or the actual conductor size underneath the insulation?

Normally I would assume they were referring to the conductor size but reading "Wire size about 2.5mm" makes me question everything.
