So I have a 300sx with a 701 dropped in. At the end of last summer I think some water got in the hull. It would start, run really rough, & die 30 seconds later. I got it back to the beach. It seemed to be running really hot too. I drained the water & had to go back to school that weekend. This week I picked it up from storage & tried to get it to fire but nothing. Motor still spins freely & has compression. Pulled apart the ebox and had some corroded looking water in it but the actual electronics don’t look corroded at all. Can get it to turn by jumping the solenoid so I ordered a new one. Didn’t help. Pulled apart the start/stop switch & cleaned it. Didn’t help. Pulled off the flywheel cover. Looks clean & no water so I think the stator is probably good. Could I have fried my cdi? I also put the multi meter to the coil & can get resistance from the neg & pos wire but nothing when I check from the end of the spark plug wires. Where should I go from here?
