I have put rediculous hours on my Jr.magoos Ported Cyl. I would say buzzem up... They not only provide great power but are reliable... :cheer:

however, i choose to go with Art from Jetworks since they're so close to me and they too deliver some great power at an affective cost and reliable. They're located in in Newport Beach, CA.

stick to a reputible shop and im sure their portjob will give you great power:biggthumpup:

And don't forget to get your head/domes cut to match the cylinder/powerband. That can mean a world of difference between a decent and a great engine setup.

I had a Riva ported cylinder and thought it was a great improvement over stock. However, laast Fall, I asked Chuckie at Team Scream to work his magic on it and I am in awe. I've never had so much power on my ski. That's with a single Novi 46 carb on ATP intake by the way. Give him a call (727) 442-7700. He certainly knows his stuff. I met him through Pat Bogart/XMetal (Chuckie's his builder).

Either way, I'd recommend going with a knowledgeable builder doing the port work over purchasing a ready-built one. They can tune the port specs to the exact combo that you will be running.

You can tell fairly quickly who the reputable freestyle builders are just from this thread.

On another note, most all us builders know each other & respect each other. By all means do your homework. Make the calls & talk to each. all of us have our twist on the final product. One might suit you better than the other. don't be afraid to ask questions. we are here to help.

I've talked extensively to and dealt with all three, Paul, Chuckie, and Art.

Paul helped me appreciate the sport by me seeing him both ride incredibly, and then by seeing his motor-building capability. He made my dual 47mm 760 SJ perform to the best of it's ability.

Chuckie wowed me from day one with his port-mapping skills and knowledge of the little details of building and performance tricks. He's putting the finishing touches on my 6mm ADA motor as we speak. The rework porting he did on my Riva cylinder has given me enough new fun that I am not even upset that my new Watercraft Factory hull/6mm ADA combo is ready yet (that's my fault as I have delayed driving down to Florida to have him and Pat set it up and tune it until July).

Art was nice enough to sell me a 6mm crank (at a great price) so that Chuckie could finish my new motor. Then I spoke extensively with Art and learned how much he knows as well. crammit442 has an ADA billet cylinder (last summer's ADA offering) motor machined by Art that makes a ton of low-end power even though many people say that the ADA won't perform as good as others.

All three of these guys are incredible builders. All have members on here who have proven skis built by each, and all three have a mutual respect for each of the other (from what I have encountered).

the most impressive motors i've ever ridden have been Team Screams and TLR's.. but i've yet to ride a magoo powered boat.. i have alot of respect for TLR's work, but i think he's focusing his efforts on MX motors again.. when i worked at his shop, i remember how he hated hunching over to work inside the pwc engine compartments.. :)

Yes, Todd does great work, but he's not so easy to deal with. He took ages to get mine done and wasn't the most helpful on the phone. I think he had a bunch of personal stuff going on or something, but trying to get any kind of status was like trying to get blood out of a stone. I heard the same about him focusing back on MX.

Todd did my cylinder and I get alot of complements on the power. He does have a short personality on the phone but in person hes cool. His work is really clean and organized. But ditto about what hes up to now.
