701 qick steer install question?

Does anyone know... how many and what size holes to drill for running the electric, throttle and bilge wires through a blaster hood. Also where do you drill them? In front of the steering or on the sides?

I drilled two holes, one on either side through the hood next to the mounting base. I guess big enough so your cables fit through.

Why don't you just remove the two old original steering metal stops and use those holes? If you pop the connectors off the start/stop switch wires they'll go right thru and the other hole only needs a "slight" opening up to get the throttle cable thru.

Hit up Dave the owner on fb or at 701 industries. He is great to deal with. http://www.701industries.com

Another awesome blaster product from him is the flex fins. They are AWESOME for the blaster ! Unbelievable change in landing and carving in the surf!!!! Check them out and the USD conversion rate is in our favor . My son is running them on his blaster, so if you are at east coast events you can try them out. I also think there is a video on his FB page.

I used a liquid tight electrical fitting. I drilled 2 holes. I drilled 1/2" hole on each side of steering base as close as possible and still allow fitting to to be installed with electrical nut. I mounted the fitting so the metal nut is on top with the rubber sealing inside. You need to mount it this way so the throttle cable doesn't bind. You will need to drill out the fitting to allow electrical connection to pass through. I used a very large tapered reamer. I ran the the throttle cable to the left hand side and electrical wires to right hand side. image.jpg
