A friend of mine has a starting prob ..when u hit the start button some times it starts but when u hold the button down for like 15 seconds nothing until u let off..some times it starts I told him to check the connections and he did but .same thing. I'm lost on helping him...any one ever had this prob

inside starter button might be corroded . check the contacts inside.use steal wool or like an emery board(girlfriend will have one)on the contacts. it could even be the ground on the starter being loose. my truck actually had a similar problem (intermittent starting) and the ground was loose... i will bet it's starter button though. you can get after market buttons for 20$ on ebay it just needs to be a momentary contact button

Put a stock CDI in and see what happens.
The symptoms you are describing are often indicative of either an MSD Enhancer failing or the stator "becoming incompatible" with the enhancer.
