Super Jet 701cc head gasket

Hello every body!

I am an owner of a Superjet about a couple of years now. I have run about 60hours. Is it time to replace the head gasket? Or can I wait for next summer?

If I have to replace it now, what things are major to know before starting?

Thank you in advance for your time

I want to prevent the issue. I have my jet at the country house. I spent time there once a year for 30 days. So if I ruin my vacations without jet it will be a problem.

When I bought it, the authorized dealer (there is no one there) told me that it will be nice if I replace it every three years.

Take Compression readings at the beginning and end of each riding season. Write the readings and dates down in your Maintenance Log Book.

Once the Compression on either or both Cylinders gets too low, it's time for a Rebuild....

Average Stock Cranking Compression is about 155 psi. When it drops 20 psi or more, time for a fresh Top End.

The dealer is an idiot.
If it is a stock head and an OEM gasket there is no reason to replace them, they do not wear out or go bad.
If it is running fine the gasket is fine, there are plenty of these running around still with the same gaskets they left the factory with 30 years ago.
