Anyone ever do a 720 flat spin? I was impressed when I saw Nick Barton doing 540s in the surf with his FR, but now I see guys like Eli doing huge 540s with a 900 on flat water. Which leads me to believe or at least hope guys are doing 720s in the surf now. Right? Anybody have a video I can watch?

Ya I saw that. It's sick. Still only 540s. I hope somebody does a flat water double bf and 720 at WF this year. Anybody see one at surf slam? I'm surprised I haven't seen any video of that yet.

Flat water 720 I see as do-able. I don't think to FW double flip is there yet tho. Hopefully someone proves me wrong cause it would be sweet to see!

Here are the first 360s I got on camera in crappy surf. Guess that's what foot rockets do... I was getting past 360 on some, just not in this clip. I just need bigger waves!

It's extremely difficult to keep that momentum up, even with height. I think a few guys have done them, like Lee, but consistency is tough. I assume it takes some wicked sharp turning radius

I'm still convinced nobody has completed this trick. Just watched the newest rip'n'ride video and only saw one 540. Prove me wrong. Please lol. I wanna see it

its been done. Nick did it last year in portugal and it was mental. its in stu's video he made.

i honestly am afraid of spins. i do them but i try and always have them off axis. landing flat really hurts.

my brother jake does 540s in the surf on his Foot Rocket and was really pushing for the 7. that is until he landed flat too herd, totally compressed/messed up his back, and was off a ski and in general pain for about 5 months.

That's funny that you mention that, Zack. I've been spinning all summer(360's). And, it's been a favorite of mine (more so than flipping). But, in early november... I did a big spin and came down all janky. I instantly felt a bolt of white hot pain shoot through my lumbar. I messed up something bad in my back good and had nerve pain so brutal, that I ended up seeing a sports medicine orthopedist. No skiing or MTBs. 6 weeks later, and massive amounts of PT and I'm just now about ready to get back on the ski and bikes. But, now...I gotta say...I'm real nervous!

It's a super fun move, but it will bite you if you stick the landing wrong!

I know someone that recently broke their knee cap on the hood doing 360 spins. They are fun to watch but I guess the potential for injury is a bit higher.

I think Stanton High has done a 720 or gotten real close. I'm pretty sure he broke his leg in the process of learning them too. Spins look fun, but they also look painful.
