750/800 top end question

can i put 800sxr cylinder on 750 sxi pro? i thought as long as it was a big pin it works, im jus trying to find out for sure. any info on this would be much appreciated. thanks

pretty sure....you'll probably need a new head...It should rip.

they will fit either small or big pin.

thanks, i thought so but wanted to be sure. the exhaust manifolds are the same too arent they? i will still be able to use my factory limited pipe rite?

everything will swap on the top end. now on the bottom the nose on the crank is slightly different on the big pin.

the pro is a big pin so doesn't affect you. i was just offering the knowledge.

Yes you can, I did this to my sxi pro back when the sxr's just came out in 2003, and better yet, everything is bolt on interchangeable. You can even use your 750 head on the 800 SXR cylinder.

cool i was wondering about that as well as the base gaskets, are they the same, wen u order is there a diff between 750 and 800? did u run a pipe if so, what pipe and did it rip?

Yes I believe I used the 750 gasket set. Either way they are the same. I used the Factory Pipe limited pipe, the one that wraps around the front of the cylinder. The most noticeable performance gain was on bottom end as the 800SXR cylinder has a different porting was has much better bottom end hit. Price wise it wasn’t that much more than rebuilding my 750 top end. You’ll need to purchase a 800SXR cylinder (get a 2003) 800 pistons and rings, wrist pin bearings and cir clips. The pistons, rings, bearings and clips are a push price wise because the 750 stuff is about the same as the 800 stuff so the only additional amount you’ll pay for is the 800 cylinder.
