I'm doin up an x2 with a 750 small pin (well maybe big pin) single carb stock motor, with 750 elec. I was wondering if you have some pictures I can look at, or if you guys could just tell me whats what....

Throttle cable? Whats the best way around this?

750 ebox rigging? Where should I slap it? I have the caged steering, so that takes up some real estate on the back wall there, so the gastank maybe the only place to "mount" it... I have no idea how to hold it there other than ducktape and straps. Anyone got pictures or care to tell me a bit more about how to do it?

And last question, how bad do you think it will suck to run a stock 650 pipe until a FP or other can be bought?

All 750s that use 750 elec I have seen installed it vertically where the oil injection tank was removed on the gas tnak.

**I ran a stock 650 pipe for a while before I got my FP on. It was not horrible, but I bored the headpipe and exhaust manifold before I installed it.

The big pin came out in 1995. If you don't know where the engine came from, use the VIN on the block to find out what the engine is from.

Was the big pin 12bolts and small pin 10 bolts on the intake?

How did you bore the manifold and head pipe? I can't even think of trying to get around those curves... some type of hone or something?

What are you guys all running for throttle setups?

Correct on the bolts, he was talking about boring it only on top where it meets the head pipe, and port match at the block.

i used the stock x2 throttle cable with a hot products (i think) mikuni top-pull bracket. it bolts to the 2, otherwise useless, holes just under the f/a.

Nice guys!

What cable are you guys running for the throttle? I don't have the bottom bracket for the cable that must have been used on the 750.

And for that matter, what cable are you using for your trim if your running a hand trim?

SX cable, custom bracket.

I took everything out of the 750 electric box and mounted it to a lexan plate behind the battery. Was going to find a nioce spot to mount the coil but never got around to it so I zip tied it to the battery strap. I used a MSD started relay. Not sure how waterproof the stocker is. A little mickey mouse but I think it looks a little cleaner than strapping the box to the gas tank.

I have a lot of nice looking stuff on the shelf, but their not going back on any X2 I build to ride in surf, they might make great paperweights.:Banane26: I just need to figure out where I want the primer on the outside of the hull.

I did run the outerwares all season. I thought these f/a's were the reason for the pistons breaking up on me early on but it ended up being detonation. Believe it or not I really had no issues with water. My hood mod worked really well to keep the water out. Mind you I still don't trust these tau ceti's. I will be changing them out for some effective stock setup.

That works good on a single carb setup with the ADA multi position throttle wheel.

My experience was that it wasn't the hood that was the problem, as much as any water left in the hull and getting rolled in the surf about 2-3 times before gaining control with the motor running.
