650/X-2 750 SP Engine not turning over, but starter running... Bad bendix?

Having some problems with my 750 small pin. Went to start it and it sounded like starter was just spinning inside of the motor. Swapped it out for another starter I had sitting around and it did the same thing. I'm thinking its something going on with the bendix not engaging the flywheel? Any thoughts on this? I'm guessing I just have a bad bendix. But any help would be appreciated. Thanks

0.2% chance bad flywheel (seen it happen with an aftermarket aluminum one)
