SX/SXi/SXi Pro 750 sx freestyle set up

It's 1992 ski with 44 mm carb 2 gal fuel tank factory pipe x2 trim mod cut hull around 6 inches in the back ac racing short freestyle handle pole let me know what u think I'm planning on rising in a stunt show that I waterski at and doing a back flip off a ver wake and it has a blowsion hood the guy I bought it from was sponsored by them so there's more I'm forgetting

Nice work brother...I've been wanting to shorten a sx hull like that for years. Never had big enough balls to go for it, you may have just given me some inspiration. Nice work!!! So have you flipped it yet?

No I just bought it and the water in northern Michigan isn't warm yet the guy that had it before me got a barrel roll with it in the surf and the hull wasn't cut but he's a much better rider then me just waiting on turf then for the water to warm up and the comes the fun!!

Haha you're telling me!!! I'll get some pics of the motor Tom. it's really clean and as far as turf goes I really need it where should I get it and how hard is it to do around and in the foot hold I've seen vids from wamiltons and stuff and it doesn't look to bad

Its not too bad to do, i bought my padding and turf from blowsion. You can pick up some glue from a local hardware store cheap. Use Weldwood in the red can. I used a heat gun to help the turf be more workable. Dont forget to buy a roll of 5mm padding for the sides and in the holds, it will save your shins when trying to BR and flip.

Yup just rode it a few days ago it rides pretty good but it takes a little bit of gettin used to all it wants to do is go backwards I just tried a little hope when I wasn't going that fast and land completely perpendicular to the water I can't wait for summer this thing is going upside down!!!

Killer. I also have a '92 I've owned since new. I'm doing a major overhaul right now, X2 trim, footholds done, motor freshen up... I really like the shortened rear of the ski. What ride plate are you running? Can you post pics of the bottom of the ski? I'm very interested in doing this. Thanks.

Ill get some pictures up. If you do decided to shorten the back as much as was done to mine I would suggest leaving the ride plate a little longer. Im going to weld an extension on mine to get the nose of the ski down a little bit. Thats my only complaint.

Im just waiting on my glass to finish this project up!

Thanks you I just finished glassing on the out side! Next I'm removing the foam and putting more layers on the inside to give it a bit more strength
