SX/SXi/SXi Pro 750 SXI-Pro Off Idle Bog?

Ok this is my first Kawi and my first stand-up:
1998 Kawasaki 750 SXI-Pro:
Engine and drive appear to be completly stock. It was a saltwater boat from Rhode Island. It had a seized pump when I bought it back in November of last year. Prior to that it had not been run in about 6 months. I removed the pump and it started right up. I wintertized it and left alone till I finally replaced the pump last month and rode it for the first time.

The Problem:
Out of the Water:
It starts right up and idles fine. When I rev it up it runs up the rpms just fine. Sometimes however it sticks at a higher rpm and it wont idle down unless I goos the throttle. Sometimes that doesn't work and I have to manaully force the butterfly on the carb against the idle screw. Then it idles down fine... (I lubricated the throttle cable, the externals of the carbs and the butterflys inside the carbs.)

In the Water:
It starts right up and idles fine. When I go to hit the throttle it dies. It starts right back up and idles fine. Hit the throttle and it dies. If I ease into the throttle and get the rpms up it stays running and runs fine. It is only when I go to grab a bunch of throttle that it dies. I can take it out and ride it around just fine as long as I ease into the throttle and keep the rpms up I can hit the throttle from 1/2 to Full no problem. Only when I let it go back to idle do I have a problem. (Not much of a problem since I am big guy and I need atleast 1/4 - 1/2 throttle to stay up on the thing)

Every once and a while when it goes back to an idle and i go to get back up on it all it wants todo is die... It takes a few minutes of fiddling with it to get it running again, then it runs fine...

I'm not sure where to start on this I have been told Carbs need adjustment or rebuilt, etc. Possibly reeds... Where to start with this?

rebuild the carb with new diaphrams, etc.
use oem kit not cheap a/m one
probably crud in the throat keeping the butterfly from opening and closing
and cr@p in the carb internal passages and internal fuel filter
making it lean

May be the crank seals inside the engine, when you want to push hard, the fuel charge under the pistons flows through the seals.... It happens to me in the last 17 years of JetSki

Sounds like a lean condition. I dont recall if there is a low speed adjuster on that carb. Rich would sputter, lean will bog. Clean the carb and make note of the jet sizes in case the clean out doesnt work. Just my .02 worth.

put what I think is a good set of used fresh water carbs on it... It seems to run fine... atleast that is what I think and others that have ridden it tell me! I dunno though... it only gets about 1-1.5 hrs per tank... I have been told it should get double that in fuel economy! any ideas?

Kawis are pigs when it comes to fuel consumption
My single carb 750sx slurps down the fuel
especially since I put on a pipe and rejetted

Hi did You ever sought this I have a simpler problem I’ve installed new carb kits in a mikuni carbs set the idle screws to stock but
Still not great would you say it’s just a carb tuning issue also checked Reed valves all good and compression 150psi each only other thing left is crank seals
