Freestyle 750sx to yamaha 760 conversion

Put up some good pics of the build rushford, that hull you picked up is one of the nicest 750s I have ever seen!! I got a few parts off of it for mine ;)

Run a water box for sure will help against water intrusion and keep the noise down! Had a 750 without water box it sounded awesome to me but was very loud to others, could hear me clear across the lake. I think a water box would be much easier than two inline silencers....

I do have a couple 550 waterboxes......TDR, DG, Atlantis, Jetsport...... Which would you recommend? I also have an aluminum 750sx waterbox but don't think I can make it work with the setup.

Any should work as long as they exit on the carb side. I have a jetsport and a pjs. They're essentially the same size and shape. I ran the pjs without any issues. I don't know if it matters but the 550 boxes I had and ran had 1 3/4" ID tubes and the b pipe exhaust was bigger. I always wondered if it constricted the engine or caused more back pressure so I guess that's another discussion point. Either way, my conversion ski ripped and that waterbox made the nose nice and light. Just glass in some mounts for straps and your good to go. The 750 box is set up to run on the bulkhead. I have no idea if it would work laid over on its side in the nose. You could keep it on the bulkhead and run one of the "u" shaped tubes from the exhaust to re route the plumbing back to the stock waterbox location. Never actually seen one installed but see them for sale on eBay quite often.

I was thinking that as well. I will see what can be done when my engine comes in. I am going to mock it up and see. I have an idea for what I want to do but I need to see how it all lays out first.

I am having some pump/prop grinding issues. Got the stock SXR prop in the pump, shimmed it ever so slightly behind the prop with a very, very tiny, thin washer (that bad?) Then I had to keep filing down the outer edges of the prop to keep it form rubbing. Had it in there nice with very minor pinging. Mocked it up on the hull and spun the drive shaft by hand only to find it catching again, WTF??? Any ideas?
