760 Blaster 1 + Riva Red or FP Mod?

I've got a 760 from a Waveblaster 2 that I'd like put in my Blaster 1. I plan to run it basically stock, except for a pipe. I've got an existing Riva Red Pipe for the B1, and understand I'm in for either enlarging the manifold holes or helicoils on the block to match it up the 760 block.

Here's the question: Should I stay with the Riva Red or try and get a Factory Pipe Mod setup instead? Limited pipes are hard to find, mod pipes seem to be easier.

Depends on how much money you have. There is a limited pipe listed here for sale right now for $1000. It would seem to me that limited pipes are being listed at a similar rate as mod pipes. I have been looking for one. The prices I have seen here recently are similar to what you would see on Ebay. Since I picked up my stock B1 last year...

Limited B1 missing mounting and coupler $700
Limited B1 with fresh powder coat etc $1000
Mod B1 with JM port work $900
Mod B1 chamber only $330
Mod B1 no hardware I forget but I recall it was around $700
Maybe more, that's just what I remember.

Riva pipes I have seen listed run from $300-500, most don't have the mounting bracket and are in my opinion, not very good condition.

So it's really just a matter of if you want to try to sell a $400-500 pipe to run a $900 pipe. I can't say for sure which one is the better pipe, but I can say that if I had a riva in my hand, I would install it and stop looking for a FPP.

It seems the issue the FPP is the chamber; theoretically you can buy a manifold and B-pipe from Factory pipe directly when they make a run. At $300 each. Which goes right back to the money point.

I would run the riva. They make great power, but need some attention the first few rides to make sure they are aligned properly. With the 1000$ you saved not buying a FP you can send your cylinders off to @holeshot for his porting and 4mil stroker kit. Or get the @yamanube porting template, high compression head and new impeller.

I'm doing a similar build. Bought a blown 760 raider a while back, pulled all the parts and took the hull to the dump. I have a few pipes in the garage. I have a Factory 760 pipe but it is missing the mounting hardware. Factory Pipe does not have them and has no specs so I can fabricate a mount. Someone who has one is sending me an outline. Also, I have two Factory b Head pipes and chambers but only one exhaust manifold. I have a line on a second. There is a new ADA girdled head on the work bench. I am not sure what I want to do with the ignition and the carbs. I have a complete 62T electrical setup and dual 38mm carbs, not sure if I want to run the 64U electrical and the 44mm carbs.
For your 760 engine you may want to consider time- cert in the 760 cylinder exhaust threads. This will allow you to bolt the Riva pipe right up to your 760 cylinders.

What's a time-cert? Familiar with a helicoil ....

Do a quick google search, time sert or cert I can never get that right. You can install these to convert your 10mm 1.25 thread down to 8mm 1.25 so you can use the 61X manifold on a 62t cylinder. The 8mm 61x bolts are easier to get into the two top inner mounts as well. This should be what you want:
M8 X 1.25 X 10.0mm Time-Sert Insert Part # 18125

I am building a 760 engine for my blaster now and I installed a Ada gridled head , Factory drypipe, blowsion flame arrestors, dual primer and some light porting on the exhaust. Now I am looking for some specs for the dual 44 carbs. Should I rejet them and whats a good starting point?
