thanks Jett.

BUt I wasnt clear.

Im confused as to OEM, and REGULAR 44s?

if OEM carbs come on skis from the factory, where do REGULAR 44s come from?

From Mikuni, the oem's would get carbs built specifically for each engine. They are the same basic carb but with different calibrations.

You're asking about some top secret stuff (lol). The answer is extremely simple once you know what to listen for.

Throttle plates are wrong too...I know some people have gotten the OEM's to work OK for their setups, I was NEVER happy trying to get them to be consistent and make the HP.

Not worth the effort for me...I can buy new Mikuni 46's, reprogram the jetting circuit, setup jets and popoff and they're ready to go and always run good. Or for the more serious power heads...We use 49mm Full Spectrums.

I thought there were guys out there running 44 mm blackjacks that were made out of oem 760 carbs and they were running good. Maybe they change the throttle plates and reprogram the jetting circuit as well.

I've asked this question to Art before and the answer was that he could make Black Jacks out the OEM dual 44s as well as aftermarket Mikuni. He said it did not make a difference and there is no difference performance wise after he gets done with them, just major light switch BRAP!
