760 head shaving

Just swap to a 61x head. Shaving a 760 head will still net you uneven numbers because the rear dome is larger.

Silly question.

64x - 760 piston is 84mm and a 61x - 701 is 81mm

Wouldn't the squish area be all messed up because of the 3mm smaller head dome diameter of a 61x - 701 head and a 64x -760 piston?

It would be fine. I have ran a 61x cylinders bored to 84mm. With a 701 Ada head. Would it be better...yes but I don't think it matters that much in a budget application.

I was just wondering if the outer edge of a 84mm piston would come into contact with the narrower 81mm dome of a 61x head.

On that note, does anyone reshape standard head domes or is that only done with removable domes like ADA?

I have looked in to recuting the domes. But there's not a ton of material there. I may try and look in to it again since I have a larger lathe. I just need to see if I can swing it in the chuck. I think I could re cut the squish but not sure about the dome.

Some one with a head on hand measure from the center of one plug to the the furthest edge of the head.
