I am beginning a 760 swap on my B1. I've got a 64x and a b pipe on the way. Planning on putting an ADA head on with 40cc domes and dual 44s. Any suggestions or best practices?
mine runs the 701 61x electronics and flywheel for swapped from the old motor pretty straight forward everything fit right in. For me i had to drill out the bolt holes on the exhaust manifold for the larger bolt on 62t/64x cylinder but not a major issue. Make sure you have matching couplers before you ditch the 701. the old b2 coupler did not match up to the midshaft coupler.
it definitely has more kick than the 701 with the same impeller. top speed slightly higher but thats due to my riva CDI with adjustable rev. it could definitely turn a taller prop than i have in it.
running low popoff and something like 130 low and 135 high jets.
Thanks, do you have any idea how long the stock bolts are for the exhasut manifold. I've looked everywhere. I'm planning on using M8 bolts with helicoils, but I have no idea how long the stock bolts are.
1. Heliocoil the ex. man. side of the cylinder to fit the factory pipe manifold bolts ( or drill the mani. bigger) ( the 760s use bigger bolts than the 701)
2. use 62t/61x flywheel and electronics.
3. aftermarket head
4. some aftermarket carbs or re jet the ones off of the 760.
I temporarily put a 760 in my bob and am running dual 44s, ada head, jetnetics flywheel, b pipe, and 62t electronics and it rips and flips!
Turns out i had put too much oil on the cylinders when I performed the compression test. After it all drained out both cylinders were at 160 exactly. If anyone cares the bolt length for the exhaust manifold is 30mm and the specs for the 62t intake manifold is M6X1.00, lengths vary depending on spacer or adapter. Updated photo attached.
well i have a 61x case, single carb so i dont have any real advise. im running a 125 pilot and 155 main.
Start high and lean out as you go.
PS i saw this on another thread
This is what factory pipe says for the 760 pipe.. no idea if thats accurate or not.
Note: Make sure you check the stock jets Main jet :130 on front (Mag) carb, 132.5 on rear (PTO)carb Pilot Jet :115 High speed screw :½ turn out from closed on front(Mag) carb, 3/4 turns out on rear (PTO)carb Low speed screw : 1-1/2 turns out from closed Needle & Seat : (stock) Spring : (stock)
I'm assuming your using 61x electronics. I'm planning on swapping out for the 61x electronics from my 701. Are you using the stock CDI? I'm leaning towards not getting an enhancer because of the reliability issues. I can't justify it in order to gain 300-500 rpm. I'm not really looking for top speed as much as I want better acceleration.
Im my experience with putting these 760 engines and OEM 44's in stand ups (normally ported and lowered cylinder) would say that the above jetting is very close. Maybe a bit low on the pop off though. If it loads up when idling or doesnt have real crisp throttle response go up on the pop off. good luck and start with the screws out at least 1 1/4 - 1 1/2. Im sure you will have to go in a bit but always better to go in then burn....
For OEM44s 130 main is fine, go ahead and use a 132.5 on the rear or else open the top screw 1/4 more on the rear. I expect it will end up over 1 turn out but start at 3 and lean to peak. 115 pilots may be too lean, if it hesitates from sustained 1/4 throttle go up a notch or two.
I am in the process of installing a hooker 10/16 on my blaster. Right now I have the stock rideplate on there. My other blaster has an aftermarket ride plate, but I can't tell what it is. Any suggestions on what I should use? I've been looking at the worx 301 or protec.
Ended up purchasing a R&D rideplate. Replaced stock bars with UMI 26" bars. Recently sent out the cylinders to jetworks performance for porting in hopes of getting better low end power. Any other suggestions?
Just put everything back together and took it for the first ride. Ski ran great. I'll need to play with the carbs a little bit once its fully broken in. Only issue I noticed was oil accumulating on the head. Looked to be coming from the spark plugs. Any ideas what could be causing that? Double checked all o-rings. Using NGK B8ES plugs.
So what did your specs end up being, im running a 760 and dual oem 44s from a wb2 in my RN and need to order some jets and springs and such. I'd like to know what jets, N&S, and springs you ended going with. I know mine may be different but want a good starting point.
