When you know about one over another then you can make a recommendation over something. I do not know about the 845 therefore I cannot comment.

I do know about Team Scream therefore I can.

the question was 845 vs team scream

i don't think its fair to make a reccomendation unless you have all the facts..your logic doesn't make sense to me...if he was asking if team scream was a good motor then you should comment but he was asking to compare the two...i just see that allot on here and it bothers me...

It is a tough one. Both are badazz no doubt.

EVERYTHING Harry touches is the poster child for reliability. This is a new package and although few have ridden one Group-K's reputation precedes them.

Spring before last I gave my big bore 753 cylinder to Allstock. I had this engine built in 1999 and ran it up to 3 years ago. At the time it was punched to 789. Wrist pin bearings let go and broke the rear cylinder around one of the transfer ports. Sent it to Harry and Gerhardt, they resleeved it and once again strong reliable power.

Other builders will offer more power but none has BETTER reliability. Some may be equal but none better.

It depends really, surf or flatwater.....team scream motors are for big big power.....most of the time not needed in the surf......but if your going to ride flatwater....no one does as good of work as Chuckie at team scream...And the motors are super dependable..unmatched customer service....you can't go wrong with Team Scream....

You really haven't been around here long have you?:theyareontome:

Ok , couple more things for further decision making, and yes it would help if someoen has ridden either one of these set ups.

-Flatwater only, rec freestyle rider, all parts provided we are talking purley modification and punch

I currently have a 760 ported which is good :) but as we all are addicted I WANT MORE, at the same time I would like a reliable set up.

845cc
- You only have one bore left before you have to resleeve right ? in case of damages.... you would be in bad shape
- Extra parts and costs involved

771cc
- Not as much CC would that matter ??
- costs appear less
- 85mm how much more could you bore ??

With the 845 you can go up .5mm

With the 771 you can go to 86mm.

Some piston manufacturers offer .25mm steps in their pistons. If the damage is minimal then you could double the number of rebores.

I have ridden Cakers boat and that thing rips. I myself love my 709 that chuck did for me. More than enough power for everything except flat water backies.

JMHO....I'd listen to advice from people that have owned or at least ridden both motors back to back.

Short of that (may be hard), talk to both shops and compare specs.
