300/440/550 85 550 won't run

So there is spark there is fuel and there is compression (i think) but this thing just won't run.

Any ideas?

sorry to say i hate piston port motors just trying to help a friend out and get his ski running.

good luck. not too many of them run.

check the stator to make sure you are getting strong enough spark

need to check the compression and i am not too good when it comes to electrical. When i use the ohm meter i don't know what to look for when it comes to the current draw and what not. Can you guys explain to me how to check if the stator is still good?

the stator shouldnt be bad i bet ur comp is low

that's all you need for it to run along with proper timing.

Put a plug in the wire and hold it against the head. Should be a blue spark not orange or yellow. Don't worry about ohming stators. If that is good use a squirt bottle or the primer knob to squirt some fuel in the carb. If it still won't run I'd guess compression. I've had one run at 100psi with no problem before. People will say that is too low but don't waste money on re-rings til you find the problem
