My ski takes on water when it sits there in the water. It's totally fine when I ride, inside is bone dry. Just when it sits. It takes on water. This sucks cuz my family has an island we chill at in the summer. I take it across the lake and stay there overnight a lot. But when I wake up the skis half way under. Ive done a leak down and think it's the Driveshaft seal were it exits the hull. Anybody know how to replace the darn thing so it doesn't meet the bottom of the lake? Thanks!

The hoist helps sometimes, but also we go out in the open to swim sometimes. I am SOL in that situation. Therefore this question

youre gonnna have to remove the engine and pull the entire driveshaft out of the ski to replace these seals. upon removal you might find another issue ie: bearings, etc

Wow. Sounds like a lot of work. Any easier methods? Ex. Silicone around the Driveshaft holder. Idk the technical name for it but it's the box at the back of the ski that has bearings in it where the Driveshaft exits the hull. If I get some silicone around that, is that a fix?

If you want to keep riding that's what I'd do. But you might have to pull the engine anyways to get the housing to completely seal around it. I installed a float switch to my bilge pump, that's another option i'd do anyways if you leave it parked in the water. Works great for me.

Well yeah, but I'm a busy guy. I have free time but my parents yell at me cuz they think Imma blow the house up every time I touch the darn thing. And also, nobody really answered how I even do this.
Step 1: pull engine
Step 2: remove housing
Step 3: remove pump
Step 4: disconnect impeller
What next??
Is there a rebuild kit I need to buy? How do I even install it

Pull the motor, take pump off, take impellor off, unbolt the shaft slide it out the engine bay. Then replace your seals and bearings.
