9/15 with 148 setback pump no bottom end

or your 9/15 may be to small and you are spinning it. try the 11/16. But work out your other issues first. I just got my ski running after almost 2 years, I had one problem masking another than made it impossible to figure out.

Hey Harrison will a 9/15 with a stock cone and stock nozzle bore feel OK? 100% stock ski.....virgin.

I don't think it's the pump fellas even the 11/17 that my ski came with felt good in my pump with a mild 701.

when you assemble the pump did you put any sealant between the stator, wear ring and pumpshoe? Im gonna be running a 7/14 solas in my 771, not sure how well a 9/15 would do with how small our krash reduction nozzels are..

Chris did the assembly of the pump. I fixed the problem I was having with smoke coming out of the pissers. It definitely hits harder than a 701, but still not enough. Local riding buddies think it's the prop, I have good midrange but not much bottom end. Impros also told me to go with a 7/14, sucks because originally they told me to go with a 9/15

i still think you have issues in other places. im telling you dude my ski with the big pump still hit WAY harder than most of my friends with new 2013+ superjet drivetrain and drop in 144 mag pumps. All the same goodies, pipe head cdi ect...

Hows your headpipe screws? Do you have a adjustable FCV? Water will make a huge difference. Especially if you went from single cooling to dual cooling. You could be smackin WAY to much water in that box/pipe. I wanna see that thing melt couplers and sizzle haha.

One of my buddies just went through a similar issue. Installed head, and dual cooling and it had NO bottom end, he had left his adjuster screws where they were at and didnt think anything about it. I eventually found the problem because he forgot to mention the dual cooling part to me.

With the size of the Kavinci water box being so small we need the least amount of water in there as possible.

It was dual cooling before with the same head, I caused the o-ring issue by over tightening one of the spark plugs and getting it stuck in the dome. I have the jetworks fcv. I have the low speed screws 1.25 turns out.

what waterbox were you running before and whos prop is it a skat?

I meant your headpipe screws not carb. Bigger pump, more pressure, more water. and it sounds like everything is a little to wet. if your out whackin on the smile lever and you get a good 3/4-WOT run then you come back down will the bottom end respond better? Have you done the 1/4 throttle to WOT test yet? I would just make sure you confirm that your not to wet in the exhaust off idle first before you mess around with tuning.

Sounds like you gotta do more tunning. how much water is getting in the pipe? matt hobson fixed my bottom end hit in one shot "wetter pipe makes a slower sonic wave and = more bottom end hit" source HPE

I know thats not mla format but college was fun

Little update.

B-Pipe with screws set to where X Scream recommended the previous owner of the motor run them. he was running a 144 pump, I'm running a 148. I screwed the lows in a tiny bit before I realized this is probably too much water in the pipe/water box. Purchased an adjustable FCV. Half to full throttle this thing pulls your arms off. Bottom end it bogs. If I rip around half-full throttle then slow down it hits much harder off the bottom. If I am cruising around and slow down, then try for a bottom end hit it isnt there. I think everything is wet. Also after riding it for half a tank last weekend I pulled the hood off and the pipe doesn't sizzle at all. Could almost touch it. Question is, what setting should I start with on the adjustable FCV?

Thanks

I read a bit on this page, sorry if i missed but what is your popoff on your carbs? If if feels like a bog and u havent checked popoff, try looking there.
If u think its too much water loading up your box, you can try a quick test like pinching the line before your fcv a bit. Or changing the orientation of the T fitting if its going straight ends to waterbox, change it to the perpendicular non direct flow into the box. Idk if that even does much tho ha
