900R or Dasa 1000? Best bang for the buck!

I have a Krash Footrocket! I'm wanting to build motor. My friends ride x metal. All I see is krash and rickter riders ride dasa. And Freak and kdx ! ride Xmetal! Wanting to know which way to go.

What do you consider as parameters that equal "bang for buck"? How many bores left after originally delivered, replacement parts availability, price, resale, or shear horsepower? Neither is a slouch. You could answer this for yourself as all you will get here is probably bickering lol. This won't end well, good luck, hope ya get what ya want and have fun.

The dasa 7 port 10mm 900 makes some serious power. I can't speak on the xmetal 900 tho. @truerider411 has the dasa 7 port 900 in his dvx and the thing has more power than most will ever need. If I had rode that before I bought my 1200 I would have bought the 900.

You just need to find people who have both and ride them, then pick the one you like the most.
They will both be enough power for you.
The xs900r cost more money but there is a reason for that

What onlyFX-1 said. There is indeed a reason most of the freestyle riders use XScream. I think it's all XScream really except for a few BUN and an EME or two. Just a guess.

This is a subjective sport, judges like the Xscream riders so that is what the competitors buy. It will change as soon as a top rider on a different boat wins. Just like racing changed from 750s to Superjets.

Zeski took 2nd at WF on a dasa 900, beating out a lot of xmetal riders. You can go wrong with ether motor, but if you factor in price the dasa is a much better deal.

If you plan on sticking with pump gas a TPE motor might work out better for you

its not just the motor you need to worry about, its the final setup that will make or break an opinion on a motor. i have owned them all from just about all manufactures and tuners. You will be amazed the difference on a well tuned boat not just a well tuned motor. It cracks me up when people have rode a boat and go that motor sucks!!!!! when the owner has the wrong pitched prop or better yet go that was awesome and they find out its BB 62T with a B pipe.

My opinion is that all above manufactures can give you a crate motor 90% ready that are very good. Carbs, elec, port etc. You need to be able to dial the carbs in and pick the right prop, its the finishing touch that will make it great. If you can't do it find some that can.

As you are in FL there are several very talented people within driving distance. I would buy the motor package from someone you have access to and part of the deal is that once you have installed it they water test it and dial the carbs in and get the correct prop pitch in.

A well tuned boat will give you back ten fold what its cost to setup and enjoyment.

shouldn't the engine builder already know the best pump set up for their package?

WB800 is talking about actually tuning the individual setup to it's potential and IMO he's giving good advice. Ultimately I would want my engine builder at the water with me to help dial it in.
