so I got ambitious one day and decided to take on the hood project. Used the ol trusty woodn mallet and chisel trick to get the liner out. I took the flapper wheel to the gross green glue and cut the top vents out with a zip disc. I glassed over the vents from the inside with a form on the ouside just taped in place. I used the orange fiberglass from a couple old exit signs as the mold for the inside of my handholds and put a couple layers of glass over that. Looks sweet inside there!! I glassed in two 2" pvc pipes to sit about 2" above my new liner so water has to fill up inside there before coming into the engine bay. Bored two 2" holes in the back of the hood aswell. Made some cardboard templates...traced around them on a piece of tempered glass. vaseline the glass, cut fiberglass to shape and layed a few layers down. Peeled right up the next day with ease. A few more layers over everything you see in pic 5 and i'll be done. We'll see if it works???

Cool build up. Enjoyed following it. Nice engineering ideas.

Nice meeting you the other day buddy. I picked up a spare sn hull, with a mint hood so I started my hood mod. After work tonight I just pulled the liner out, she was a pain but I got it. did you find any engineering issues with your design? If not I will probably do something similar. when you filled the old vents in did you just use tape and vasline on the outside with resin and fibreglass strips on the inside? did you have any clearance issues when adding that glass layer on the backside of the hood?

she looks great man, I hope mine turns out just as good.
