93 Wave Blaster Restoration

Any recommendations wether I should paint/epoxy the engine compartment? If so what’s the best product and what prep (grits of sand paper etc) should I consider using? Or would you consider doing the engine compartment in Kevlar?

I sanded mine until it looked clean everywhere and then just left it raw. I did use colored pigment in the epoxy resin for the reinforcement and that looked really nice. Paint will inevitably peel at some point. If you want a clean look, i'd go with the kevlar.

I recently did my motor compartment with a product called Interlux Bilgekote. Follow the directions, scuff everything up with 220, wipe our with acetone to remove all oil/grease and apply with a brush or roller. I’ll get some pics, but the stuff had great reviews and came out great. I bought a qt on Amazon and used about 1/3 of it for my SJ, Blaster will be getting done over winter.

Curious to see how it turned out.
