So the lil rubber thing that sits towrads the engine and kind of wedges under the gas tank... found that flopping around in the engine compartment, as well as 2 other 2"x4" pieces of rubber.

I shook the gas tank it seemed rigid still so I didn't put it back..

Should I put these pieces back in with some silicone/adhesive or just leave themout?

I wouldnt second-guess yamaha designers. They must have had good reasoning to have them there. My vote is to reinstall them. Also use 3M 5200 marine adhesive. Perfect for what you need to do.

I used contact cement to glue my rubber pieces back down after I cleaned up the old goo. Dap Welwood(red can) of course!!

Matt, maybe he means the 4200, the quick cure stuff. 5200 is the shizz if you got a week to wait for it to dry. It drys out here in a few days though..lol
