Blaster 94 WaveBlaster Issue, Ideas Appreciated!

Working in the water is tough if there are other boats around for sure man. It's best to pull it up on shore lol

Yeah, unfortunately there is no shore where I am. And with it shutting off frequently it would be a task to get it to a shore.

I took it out after checking the fuel system to see if I could figure out some sort of pattern with the switch. After having it shut off numerous times I found that by removing and reinstalling the tether I could get it to fire right back up. Keeping the tether on and trying to restart after it turned off didn't seem to work well. I've ordered a brand new switch from eBay and I'll install that to see if it's indeed the problem.

New start switch is installed and I managed to go out for an hour or so the other day. It didn't shut off so we'll see if the issue comes back. It does however still surge at top end after running flat out / full throttle for several minutes. More testing this weekend!

It'll run perfectly smooth at full throttle, then after a while at max power the engine will slow a tad then surge back to full. It will do this up and down to varying degrees. If I decrease the throttle input slightly it seems to normalize.

Maybe it's just getting too hot on long runs? I've reinstalled the thermo sensor too, maybe I'll try removing it again.

That switch just kills it. There is no in between really. If the water box was doing it then it wouldn't surge back but check it anyways. It's hard to really say without riding it.

Best I can do for you is recommend you come to Watkins Glen in two weeks to watch the race. I'll be there with a lot of other b1 guys. If one of us can't figure it out you might as well scrap it. Lol. Bring it with you and we'll test it out

lol, I appreciate the offer. I'll be at the CanAm freeride on Lake Erie / Crystal Beach this weekend so many someone there can help me. I'll see about the Glen, that's not far either.

Updating this thread: After replacing the start / stop switch I've yet to have the ski randomly turn off on me. I've managed to ride the ski several miles and it seemed to run great, however towards the end of a 30min trip it felt like it was slowing / hesitating at fill throttle. Maybe it was running hot? Backing off the throttle seemed to help. I didn't die on me though.

I'm happy with it. It's not often I'll be taking long rides on it and it runs great just kicking around in the waves.

Also I'm selling my old start / stop switch on eBay for $1 if anyone wants it. Ends tomorrow: http://www.ebay.com/itm/25166469858...em=&sspagename=ADME:L:LCA:MOTORS:1123&vxp=mtr
