96-07 Bracket to 08 Pole Top Help

I have the bracket from JetManiac, the $39 bent aluminum bracket and it is needing to go inside of an 08 pole.
I cannot get this pole top off for the life of me. I have beaten the heck out of it and it wont budge. I seen it might of been glued from the factory with that green glue, should I somehow get that glue to reactivate?

I have been using the search bar and nothing comes up for the Pole Top removal

try heat , it will soften up the glue

I forgot to mention that i used heat on the metal top
