i have a 96 gtx with 85 psi in both cylinder. so its time for a rebuild and i work at an auto shop so i have the hook up with boring. but im also think putting a different motor in her its 787 motor what other motors will drop right in that are bigger?

Nothing else will just drop in. You have to do heavy modification to put a 951 in it.

I wouldn't say heavy modification, but you would have to fab up a new mount for the front and swap sides with the electrics and exhaust systems, not worth doing really unless you have all the necessary parts just laying around, you are only talking 20HP difference anyway. A 787 can be modded to eat a 951's lunch fairly easily.

Yeah im not looking in to doing much work on it i was just looking in to motor options to find the best price.

The 787 is the better engine of the two, thats for sure, just rebuild it and go with it.

took the top end off today alot of oil sitting in the case and it hasnt been ran all winter. could it be the rotory seal that i keep hearing about?

More than likely inner crankshaft seals, you can test these by plugging off one large oil line to the rotary valve and pressurizing the other with a popoff pressure gauge.It should hold 5 lbs for 5 minutes.

how hard is it to replace and is it expensive i have the top end all apart and my parts should be in this week. should i just put a new one in?
