Nice weather weeks??? Dude..... you live in SoCal.Haters and helpers alike...I welcome your thoughts.
Anyway, I am thinking about a totally different approach to my next ski after having sold the 440 and hopefully I can get it sorted quickly to not lose the whole of the remaining nice weather weeks.
So in thinking about and reading the whole gas to oil ratio thread, I realized if possible I would prefer to not have to worry about that. I recently had a GoPed scooter and forgot to mix the oil and screwed up that engine and I don't like the idea of spending a lot of money on a ski and messing it up on accident. So...I want to do more research and get input on a 4-stroke ski to avoid this issue.
I googled and while I can find a price, i am sure it ain't cheap...something like this Benelli would be awesome I think http://www.benellijetskis.com/b3s-extreme Not necessarily the high end but something like that would be sweet I think!
What other 4-stroke options are there?
And wouldn't a 4-stroke me more quiet? I can live with the loudness of a 2 stroke but would definitely pay more for it to be more quiet if in fact the 4-stroke helps with that.
I am sure a backflip can be done on either a 2 or 4-stroke so long as the engine has enough power so i dont think thats a factor.
thanks in advance!
You should buy a Spark, 3D, or Quadski.
thanks manTrue fuel is premixed with oil, fuel stabilizers and high octane 93 with no ethanol.
It would be a huge waste of money in your ski so don't actually do it.
We use it at work because the guys kept burning up the saws with no oil and clogging up the 4-stroke carbs with oil.
I use it at home because of the fuel stabilizers. 1-2 quarts gets me through the summer but it takes all winter to use one quart and the stuff won't go bad over the winter.
Again, too expensive for the ski but great for the small gas tools.

thanks for the adviceThe "legit" advice is to idiot proof your situation.
Get a race can that is see through. Get an oil with a strong dye like yamalube. Never put gas in the can unless you put oil in the can at the same time. Always look at the color before pouring. Write "93+oil" on the can right next to the lid you unscrew to fill it.
We all make mistakes. Set yourself up to check yourself.
My race can is white. My oil is green. I can very clearly see through the can of there is oil in the fuel or not. Just don't forget to buy the right octane.
as for idiot proof, i am not your run of the mill idiot
OK. I managed to stay outta this one but you pulled me in here. Dude, I feel you haven't made up your own mind about what you want. Try a 3D.
I have two of them. They re stand up couches. 4 stroke. Heavy. You MUST get the red one because it has the 971 in it @130HP the yellow one has a 7xx who cares you don't want it. You will not be getting any air off of waves less than 3' because the ski weighs as much as a damn house and has no bottom end and it will cut the top off of the wave. And then that will hit you in the face. yay Prop might fix that a little. The bottom hull IS an XP. Its fine. Not great, but fine.
OR, or you could just buy a used ski from one of these fine choices. Shipping isn't so scary as it has been in the past.
BE CONFIDENT. Make a choice.
951 is a reed valve engine with power valves- does not like water injestion and is direct injected in the 3D... 787/800 is a rotary valve engine with power valves. At least they have oil injection, so fill one tank with oil, and then the fuel tank gets gas right out of the pump. Warning light comes on when the oil level is low...They are not 4-stroke. The are 2-stroke twins with rotery intakes. The 951 has powervalves for sure, not confident on the 700.
Ryan had a xp and later the 3d. They share the same bottom deck. I'd much rather have the xp. The go kart seat on the 3d was a blast on a relatively calm bouy course though.
I don't understand any of this though i am sure its helpfulThey are not 4-stroke. The are 2-stroke twins with rotery intakes. The 951 has powervalves for sure, not confident on the 700.

Forgetting to put oil in your gas.
