Super Jet A newb question for an old rider

I'm just getting back into riding a standup after 20 years away. I used to like riding freestyle and would also set up a course to carve the bouys. I've had a couple of standups in between but being a small business owner, I don't get to ride as much as I want/need. I'm having an issue while carving on my Superjet. I'll sometimes be riding through a constant speed carve and suddenly the ski justs hooks a sharp turn. Most times I just get thrown off balance but I have gone off the high side. I ride left foot forward and I have this problem when making a turn to the left. I don't have the problem to the right, only to the left. I think I'm maintaining a constant speed but have to wonder if maybe I'm letting the nose drop? The thing is, it doesn't happen every turn but randomly and suddenly. This has happened with the stock rideplate and still happens with the Shredmaster. I know more ride time will help me work through it but looking for suggestions to quicken the learning curve.

I know what you're talking about but I overcome it with practice. Not sure what it was but I'd be going through a turn and the ski would feel like it violently and suddenly hooks and throws me the opposite way.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one experiencing this. It's not that it turns too sharp but that it is somewhat unpredictable.

Tubbies would make it turn sharper all the time? That would be a plus if so. Dang though, I'll have to spend another $400 just to get rid of this problem?

So Curb..., any idea what you actually changed to overcome this? BTW, I dig your Duc; is it an "S"?

I did see that zero has some sponsons as well. However, I ride fresh water so I sometimes get flat water. I have heard that adding front sponsons can have a some negative effects when riding flat water. Can someone offer some input about that please?

pretty sure they just make your hull wider making it more stable, help to catch the water better instead of slideing. I could b wrong, ive got a set of zero tubbies on mine, im in tx ride flatwater, almost done with my build so I can try theme out

Where do you ride?

Its strange that you're having problems with your left foot forward TURNING left. Typically I can hook my turns better left because my Right foot is giving the most balance on the rear of the ski.

I know some of the SXR guys switch feet depending on the turn. I would definitely think about your balance and center of gravity in relation to your foot placement if you ride 'surf stance' all the time.

Some of the guys who ride at Lake Lewisville used to race and could probably watch you hook some turns and give you some feedback that you could implement asap.

Last evening I learned how critical the superjet is to your weight placement. I paid really close attention and made some improvement. I just need more ride time...
