Ada girdled head running temp?

I tried searching but not much comes up.

I bought an ADA girdled head a couple years ago but really haven't been able to ride until this season because of needing a hip replacement

I think im starting to get it tuned pretty well and am impressed with the performance so far but am concerned with how hot the head is getting. I cant touch it for more than a couple seconds.

It's a ported x motor with wet jet intake and 46mm carb. B pipe with top and mid closed bottom opened, can't remember how much

Can you guys confirm this is OK or too hot? Any reccomendation on a good temp strip to put on the cylinder to see actual temp?

Motors are supposed to run about 150. If an oring is leaking , it'll blow the water away in the head and make the head hot or a partial air water combo out the head pisser. Not that that's your issue. Riding in warm water can make it run hot too. Could be a lot of things

Thanks for the reply buzzman.

I just found a thread on pwctoday where someone says the engine temp rises after shut down for a while because the water cooling stops, which makes sense I guess. and I didn't check the engine temp until it was back on the trailer.

Mainly I am pathetically out of riding shape and have an intermittent solenoid click problem. (Rode with a rubber mallet on the boat who's wake I was following lol) didn't want to start and stop to much.

When editing for clarity on my original post I accidentally deleted a few things. I'll type my full specs in case any of it matters.

91 sn hull. Setback skat 144 mag running dual cooling to a b pipe mani tapped for dual. Prop is jetworks "A". exit nozzle bored out per them.

Inside 3/8ths cooling lines set up per the popular method and diagram you find here, no surprises. Jetworks flow valve. Dual pissers both with a very strong stream. Stock sn waterbox. Forget which b pipe chamber I have.

Cylinder ported by jetworks, 46mm carb spec per jetworks, lightened flywheel from the maniac, msd enhancer.
