ADA Girdled Head Stud Holes Not Lining Up

I just bought a 2014 SJ that came with a girdled head but without the girdle studs installed. I ordered the stud kit and upon further inspection I noticed there are 2 holes that do not line up (closest to exhaust towards the rear). I tried to search about it and came up with nothing. Do you just drill down through the head holes to open them up?

I had an issue with my head lining for installing the normal head bolts. I just flipped it around and it lined up. I assume it could be similar for the girdle studs.
However I wouldn't just count on that.
When the studs are installed, they do have a little bit of flex to them as well..
Loosen up the head bolts and see if you can move it slightly forward and then flip it around, and then see if the girdle studs slightly flex enough to fit with everything loose.
Worst case scenario you need to drill it out.. But I don't know the effect that'll have on the strength of the casting..

If all the head bolts go in with out a bind its not on backwards. That's a 62t or 64x cylinder. It will need machining or grinding to clear the back and middle girdle stud on the exhaust side. Those cylinders had a larger exhaust mount due to the larger exhaust chamber they came with on the stock machines.

I was told it's a 62T cylinder.

Here are pics so you know what needs clearanced to run the girdled head on the 62t cyl
Most helpful!! Thanks for the pics.

I'm unfamiliar with the Ada heads. Being o-ringed, can you just pull the bolts out, remove it, grind away where necessary and install per ADA's original instructions? Or will the orings need replaced?

Yes you can pull head off and reinstall without having to replace orings if they are not damaged...cheap insurance though to replace them.

I also just noticed the plastic intake is blocking the center hole!!! Dang! Some modification required I guess.... I will pull it off to see if there is any "meat" in there to cut away without creating a hole.

I guess I should have asked before but, would y'all run the girdle kit? Stock internals, bpipe, 35cc domes, msd... I just assumed if the holes are there for it already then whey not! I will say I figured it would be a little more "plug n play" without mods. I guess it'll be cheap insurance.

IMO you don't need it unless you want to go through the hassle of modding it...the 62t casting is stronger than 61x and doesn't sound like your ported at all. Running it as is is just fine or swap it out for a non girdled head if you don't like the look of of the extra holes with no hardware.

Yes, the stock airbox will need modded for that stud

Thanks for your insight. You seem like a great asset to this community. I just got the ski and from what I'm told, it is stock porting. I am also new to stand-ups so I am trying to learn everything as I go! Thanks again!
