ADA Girdled Head Stud Holes Not Lining Up

Oh and by the look of that ada head it looks like a clone/fake...not trying to burst your bubble but the Ada logo on it is not the right one, have been a few fakes floating around and have looked the same. Not sure if it will affect performance, probably not but if you have issues down the road it might be something to keep in mind.

Just thought you should be aware of what you got

There is a LOT to learn. I'm sure it will come over time. Thanks for the heads (no pun) up... here are a few more pics.

To the op, norris mike: the first pic shows a 62T cyl. which had that rear corner tab machined off in a mill. It does not have to be done that nicely, I would suggest a hacksaw and file in pic 3. 2nd pic shows what you apparently have , be advised that is not what came on that Superjet, the "fake" head has holes in proper place. The last pic shows: you only need to elongate that center hole with file or grinderP1050449.JPG P1050450.JPG P1050451.JPG P1050452.JPG P1050449.JPG P1050450.JPG P1050451.JPG

Thank you for all your help. I have sent the pics to ADA for further review. I gotta say, I'm not getting off on the right foot with my venture into the stand up world. I hope it is real.

Augustaf, Thank you for sharing those pictures. I discovered these were 62t cylinders after the purchase. Not that it's a big deal or anything. I just want the ski to run well and be reliable. That is why I looked into installing the girdle kit... that I already purchased... for my potentially fake head.... I will say, the ski runs very well so far (minus a bendix issue) and I think my family will love it in the summer. Looking forward to getting this sorted out so I can ride it more.

I may try and remove the cylinder material with an oscillating tool and carbide blade. Not sure if it will have enough power to get through but I've had great luck with this tool before making controlled cuts on different materials.

Domes look real, but look like they may have gotten worn where they rest on the head shell, feel them for a lip there.

When the domes can move due to wear inside the head shell, they might vibrate enough to loosen the sparkplugs or fracture the electrode porcelain. Used to be a common problem with certain blue colored heads a quarter century ago.
