Super Jet ADA Head + Factory Pipe, do I need dual cooling??

I currently have a 2010 SJ, only mod is FP limited pipe. I am using stock carbs and F/A.

I just bought an ADA girdled head with 35cc domes. I was wondering, do I need dual cooling for this setup? I was just about to install it, but im worried it will get too hot.

Any suggestions?

If it helps, I run 93 oct pump gas.

I would install it while it's out. Deff good to have in the summer warm water temps.But I unhook one cooling line in the winter or disconnect a pisser.

Im in Puerto Rico. Its kinda hot all year round.

I only ride surf (lake riding is illegal here).

Assuming you're using pump gas compression with pump gas, then yes.
I'd also install dual cooling in your temperatures.

Yes, I got the 35cc domes, 185 psi comp. According to ADA, they are designed for 91 oct gas.

According to PR law, you can't use boats with more than 30hp on lakes. I know, its stupid. Anyway, its not like there are many lakes here...

My stepmom is from Puerto Rico and her family still lives there in Guaynabo. I have been down to PR quite a few times now. I have even surfed a few breaks near Rincon (and got my ass kicked by some HUGE waves).

If any of you guys experienced Puerto Rico, believe me - you wouldn't care about not being able to ride lakes.

Rincon is really nice, i went to college near Rincon, and I used to surf there almost every morning and afternoon. To bad I cant get the ski there, too much surf crowd. Anyway, almost all good surf beaches on that side of the island have reef bottom, not sand. It wouldnt be any fun to nose stab right into sharp coral reef.

And yeah, with our beaches, I couldnt care any less about lake riding.

Is there any way to fit the stock flame arrestor with the ADA head? I just noticed the stock airbox will hit the head. I don't want aftermarket flame arrestors, since ive read here that they take too much water.

trim the plastic flame arrestor.

A few options:
1. Use a reed spacer
2. Notch the flame arrestor so that it fits
3. Use a flame arrestor spacer. I think XMW sells them.

Thanks guys. Just took out the airbox and it seems just trimming the plastic part will do. What about the the FA's metal base? Looks like a very close fit.

It will fit. I have the same setup and all I had to do was trim the plastic at the center-bottom of the arrestor hood so it would clear the head.

ya i trimmed mine, but now im regretting it because mixed gas gets all over my head.

FWIW I have aftermarket flame arrestors and I had water injesttion issues until I got a set of waterproof "drychargers" from k/n
