Freestyle Addicted to flip attempts

Yesterday was awesome! Millah brought his wakeboard boat out to the lake for the July 4th weekend and on the last day (yesterday) he threw some very nice wakes for me and my son to jump. My son threw some 3/4 barrel rolls, almost rode a couple out. AWESOME to see my kid throwing them too. It's a dad thing...

I sacked up and tried my first backflip attempts. First one was a total backsplat. But I did get a couple a bit past 3/4 and nosed in. Friggin flaked on throttling to try and ride them out though. But I can honestly say it was the funnest day of jet ski for both of us. Huge thanks to Millah.

The ride got cut short because my son landed on his ski and bruised his shoulder really bad. We think... Fingers crossed. But we each got in about 6 attempts.

No pain whatsoever and can't wait to try some more. Addicted bad!

Nice man! Our second boat had to leave early... But the one was still amazing. Hopefully have some pics and maybe some vid that others took. My vid doesn't show much, but I'll pull what I can from it. Congrats bro!

Lucky, I was the complete opposite, lol. I hated trying backflips, because my first few flops were pretty bad.

Picture attached: First ever flip attempt, 770cc Gen1 BOB off a V-Wake. Note-to-self, hang on tighter next time.

Not me... The backflip itself doesn't hurt but I have a nasty habit of taking chunks out of my fingers with the back of the throttle lever and the back of the trim lever if I don't pull it. Not exactly sure how it's happening or even how to fix it.

Congrats on the attempts! My knee is heeling up, and I plan on getting back out and at it this weekend. Hopefully figure out how not to get all banged up on the backie attempts.

Same here first time ever i hit a v-wake it happened to me. Next time i had gloves which helped a ton and held on tighter = complete backflip

Welcome to the club! If my ski will backflip off a boat wake I'm happy.
That's how I feel about it too. Thanks man it is soo much fun.

Thats a huge bummer. Hope you get it figured out.

Glad you're healing up man! Sounds like you're pretty pumped to get back at it.

I think I saw your vid? Friggin awesome dude! Avatar looks nice...

Link to what was descent off my gopro. Most of what I got was looking off in some random direction, because my camera got readjusted every time I hit the water. So the ones that came through aren't that good, but you get the idea. Can't wait to try some more either. It's killin me! Flippy rolly stuff is at the end.

I live in town. East of Scolaris, Raleys, Smiths blablabla close to East Valley Rd. Bossten1 AKA Bobby lives on Bluerock and usually has an SXR in the bed. Yes we go to Topaz. Just haven't been much this year yet. And Topaz is the goto lake for the most part. The river is looking awesome right now too. Might hit that up with Bobby some time soon while the water stays high. Shoot me a pm if you want to get some phone numbers going.

not really sure where east valley rd is, but im sure its not far from me..but does Bobby happen to have a white lifted pick up?? cause i always see that truck with a ski in the back and it makes me so jealous haha...but ya, ill PM you my number..right now all ive got for the water is a 14ft aluminum boat but im down to take some pictures and be the 'support vehicle' ie were the beers at..

I have that problem too, sucks!! My trim lever kills my finger, the throttle isn't so bad. Idk wtf happens, but it sure stings.

Bobby has a lifted red f150 that's on bluerock usually, but there's another guy Tanner who has a lifted white chevy, that has a black square nose superjet in the same area. It's almost always in the back of his truck.

Got a couple more attempts today off a v wake. I am super thankful they gave me the wakes, but they didn't know what speed to go, or how far apart to be. Neither did I lol! So being the wakes were from ski boats (not wake boats) and speeds and spacing were random I could only get the 3/4 nose ins going. No vid either. It was still fun trying though! One boat had to go load up, so I only got a couple shots at it. GHAAAAHHHHHHH I want to get one around soooo badd!

Yes that's my son. He's 20 now. 21 next month. Holycrapimoldlol! He rode his first standup around 14 I think? A friend of ours had a couple, then we picked up a couple. I'm stoked for you and your kid! Nothing better dude. I love being able to ride with them and see them have fun and progress. Nothing like it.

Just landed my first one today!!!! we finally had some waves. Plate to plate but I landed dead flat on the plate and rocked my knee bad. Limped all around work for 8 hours afterwards.

Still feels pretty good though now that I landed one on my own ski.
