Advice on getting this cylinder off? 62T/61X cylinder. ADA head studs

I cant get this cylinder off the crank case of this 61X motor im trying to rebuild..

Ive soaked this thing in PB Blaster a few nights in a row and I cant get this cylinder to budge even alittle bit.

I don't want to damage it so im using a plastic hammer with the metals balls inside of it. So its hitting it pretty good but it does bounce very slightly.

There’s also no room anywhere to use a screwdriver and it looks like the guy i bought this from already kind of tried that and put some marks in it..

Am i missing something here? Do the studs have to come out? Are they possibly putting pressure on it making it even harder to get out?

What should i use or maybe put back on the motor so i can hit it better on both sides especially the intake side.

If i cant get it off, would be easier withe lower case and crank removed?
The pistons and crank spin freely actually so thats not the issue here..

Thanks!

Removing studs will make it easier to get the cylinder off and back on when that time comes.
Your cylinder is probably stuck on the 2 alignment pins. Use your deadblow hammer and try to hit it from bottom up straight as possible. Those alignment pins won't let the cylinder go anywhere but straight up.

That motor has obviously seen a good amount of salt water use and there is likely to be a lot of corrosion where the studs pass through the cylinder base. Pull those studs for sure, I would heat the cases up a bit with a torch where the studs mount, just go slowly around heating up each area one at a time. Then go at it with the dead blow as suggested

Put the head back on and crank it over.
I wish I could just attach the head and be done with it, haha. However, the previous owner damaged the piston ring lands on this engine. Lol

I'm considering building the 61X/61X Single Carb I've saved from the past to get the SJ up and running again as quickly as possible. It also means one less carburetor to rebuild compared to the twin 38's, not to mention the hassle of tuning dual carburetors.

I have a complete rebuild kit put together, and a refurbished 61X cylinder with pistons, ready for install in either engine.

I could build the motor over the summer and swap it out if it's completed in time. With the closing of so many machine shops around here, it takes much longer than it used to get the cylinder bored out and ready.

I'm planning to have the ski painted over the winter by a friend. Currently, it's just white, but I'm considering keeping it simple with black on the bottom and either cleaning up the original gel coat or having it painted white on the top. I have a newer 2016 SJ Black Handle Pole, which would complement the white and black color scheme nicely, especially with some reproduction graphics.
