So, I thought i'd update this thread as i have just completed the 3 Euro rounds. I stuck with the 144 solas and rode the 61x +5mm.
The last 3 weeks where a big learning curve in terms of competition riding and the wave size was'nt really that great. Portugal threw up some good lumps on just one of the days and turned into a shore break when the tide was in. France was even worse with me getting knocked out in the 1/8 finals in small 1-2 foot surf (I needed a big motor).
The UK round was also small until we waited for the swell to come last monday we ran the comp from the 1/8 finals then. I managed to bag 4th place in the UK round due to some luck and there been good waves to send my small motor off.
So as much i read back through this thread and i thought i did'nt need a big motor back then........I do NOW!!! Haha. Watch this space as i'll be getting some big CC's soon.
Also looking at a trip over to surf slam with my buddy here if i can manage to borrow a ski.
