Aftermarket Carbs, are they Louder than stock carburetors???

Hey Yaw,

I am running my first set of Aftermarket Carburetors, which are a set of Full Spectrum 50's on a XS 1060 w/ a Power Factor Exhaust (Also first's). Anyways, ever since I started running them I have noticed that they seem to make a lot more noise than say a 735 with 38's. There is what I can best describe as a steady tapping noise at idle and low rpm that sounds almost like the diaphragm is making contact with the cover. Has anyone else experienced this and are large aftermarket carburetors just nosier in general?

Interesting, I noticed my first 8 mil crank and aftermarket cylinder did this.. my thought was it’s the sounds of the V-force reads coming up through the carbs.. some air being sucked around a closed throttle and fuel being drawn out the idle circuit…

My big engine with 49’s used to dribble fuel out the high speed circuit (bomb sight) at idle and that made noise too when it hit the throttle blade and the sucking sound changed as it wend past a close d throttle blade.. I could watch it make the noise

I have experienced this when testing between the SE ninja carbs and 49 FS that I have. The ninjas are considerably louder. You can hear a lot more intake noise. I’m not sure why but it is very apparent.
