I have an aftermarket hood that im contemplating running hood hooks on (Hood Side). I was wondering if they're even necessary with a ratchet strap? Whats the general consensus, run the hood hooks with the ratchet strap, or no?

Ya hooks are nice to hold the front in place and can help your hood seal last longer from lateral impact pitch tearing .

how much do you like your hood? pancaking will shift your hood and either cause water to rush in or your hood to come loose.. allso I highly recommend a latch in addition to the hood hooks.

obviously, they are MUCH stronger than the OE.

i have cold fusion ones here in stock, if you want. both, hood side, and hull side.

please email or call the shop if interested.

i would have went with those if they worked with the RRP lowered bracket but i have been informed that they dont.

what hood side hooks are people using with the rrp lowered bracket (superjet)? I put my buddys hood on my ski to see what the placement of his hood with stock hood hooks would like like and the hooks went in fine but left about a ¼ inch gap in between the front of the hood and the part of the hull that the lowered bracket mounts too. what my options on hooks outside the stock yamaha ones? I know that cold fusion and x-metal makes hooks, but dont know if they will work with my setup and close this gap? Basically looking for some that are a little shorter than stock and work with the rrp lowered bracket. Does rrp make hood side hooks?
