Aftermarket hull for FX1 riders?

What do you guys recommend me looking for if I want something close to an FX1? I rode an SJ once and it felt like a boat. Granted it was a boat with 1200 in it, but still too big for me!

My FX1 hull needs some work but I was thinking I could probably look into an aftermarket hull but I haven't been around much the past year or so to know whats out there.

I ride flatwater currently but surf might be in the future. Looking for something for general freeriding

WDK used to make an FX1 styled aftermarket hull, the F1(pro) and Tom21 also made an FX1 styled aftermarket hull, the FX21. However, both are not easy to get. And I am not sure if any are produced any longer.

A Rickter Edge, it won't be like a FX1 just better! I had 2 FX1 for 15 years, got a FS2 and ended up with another so I sold the FX,s with no regrets! Of course after riding a few Edges I want to sell one of the FS2!!!

My FX1 is mostly stock. About all Ive done so far is the 140mm Kawi pump, but I actually need to redo a bit of it before I can ride it this summer. Thats part of the reason I started thinking of just getting a hull. Plus id like to start building a nice ski now that Ive got a solid income.

Id like to spend less than $5k

Well my widened tubbied Kawi pump fx1 was an absolute blast to free ride. The problem I faced and you will face is the pump situation. This forced me to ride mine for a year until I had more funds. I went with a predator starter kit.
