So, I'm still trying to clean up some of the salt water corrosion on my recent purchase, when I spy my starter, and say, I should remove that, clean, repaint, and lube it up, etc. Ten minutes later, when I'm pulling the motor so I can take the stator cover off to push out the snapped off oring flange which was once cast on to my starter, I vow, yet again to never buy anything used that has been in salt! Ugh!!!
My question, anyone have any insight on aftermarket starters? I imagine that there is a huge difference between a $40 Flea bay unit and a $300 factory unit. What are you guys running when you replace your oe starter when it dies?
Thanks guys!
Jon
