Should hiss. It's pressure system. The valve does have a pop off though. For if it would sit in sun to long fumes expand. I used a heater ac one way valve off a automobile and it had no pop off pressure. Pop off on carb went and flooded he engine and hull. It should hiss if it sits in the sun. If it doesn't hiss. You have a air leak.

Clean carbs rebuild soak in carb soaking liquid. Autozone sells some. But remove all the parts first. Clean out all the passage ways. Reassemble. Maybe check your fuel lines connecting to your pulse nipples on manifold

I guess I misread your post. I was under the impression that you were having to prime to start every time. A little maintenance sure does help. Glad ya found the problem

I think I read it right . I thought that was the problem . But I checked everything for a leak like u said to . Then moved into the carbs where they were gummed up pretty bad . And you are right I should have maintained them unfortunately I didn't . But I will every season now . Watching all my buddies ride while I sit beachside sucks
