Air leak from hell!

when its running and its hot take your air compressor and blow it around were you think you mite have a leak,if you have one the influx of forced air should kill the motor!

I've always noticed that my manifold/reeds get colder after I run the engine. I think it's something to do with the negative air pressure change. Are you sure heating it will replicate the issue?

Brand new bulb primer and connected to the return line. So far I have gotten as far as removed the exhaust, tank, and removing the 4 bolts holding the engine down. Having a 2 year old running around makes progress fairly slow.

@Rdrttoy hooked me up with some new oem quality gaskets so everything is fresh with a liberal amount of 1211 and torqued .5lbs over spec. Through in some new ada orings as well just to make sure. If she still doesn't run right I am going to smash it to bits and run the stock 62t out of my loaner couch..

Well f$#@JK me! She does the same f-ing thing.. Only thing I haven't done is replace the carbs and only extra carbs I have are BJ 48's. Anyone have any jetting suggestions on the BJ48s? I talked to Art and he told me the carbs are for 900+ cc's and he didn't have any jetting recommendations for me.. I have read a few threads with people running them on 701's so figure I will try them anyway.

If no one chimes in I am going to start with:
125P
115M Smallest mains I have are 100's and 115's..
21 Psi (2.0 and black spring)

It is working rather well besides an occasional stumble when I try wake. my next action is to lower the pop off pressure to 18-19 and then perhaps go down on the pilot jet.

Good news! Put the BJ'S on with same jetting and 18psi pop off. Just tested with a few high revs and no more issue! Really smokey though so probably need to raise pop off back up a hair.

Now to throw my 44s in some Chem dip.

Thank you everyone for your help!

She's alive! Jetting ended up being a hair lean and I had to turn the high jet 1 3/4 turns so she wouldn't fall on her face. Was also able to nose in most of my flops. Hoping a 120 main will give me that much more power.

Woohoo!! brap jacks off the market now?

My plan was/is to sell them and just get some brand new mikuni 46's from amazon. Sometimes they dip down around 190$ each. And with any money left over get the blaster a boyesen intake manifold and reeds.

Looks like $199 is the lowest they get.

Ski idles fine and I can blip it to 1/4 throttle or so on the trailer, but a blip to 1/2+ and she takes off like a rocket and I have to give full throttle and hold down the stop switch. While riding when the pump leaves the water she revs high till the pump is back in the water.[/QUOTE]

Load will slow the engine down in water, out of water u might have NS stuck or worn.....u blip and it sticks open ??

Leak down test is best to make sure everything is tight , once that's done u can move on to Carburetor etc...

I do leak down on all engines I build/rebuild, peace of mine and ease of finding troubles afterwards.
