Me and some friends will be staying in Orange Beach Alabama for a week, and we will be bringin our skis, is there anything special you have to do to be able to ride in the ocean in Alabama?
Did you find any help .if not.I can give you some pointers .I'm not from there but it's becoming my second home .we go twice a year .I believe it's called boggie point is where some guys ride ..it's off the street that the big blue water tower is on...Alabama's coastal something . its the first stop light. you should be going by tacky jacks...marina rd .go down that road until you get to the end and it should put you at the boat ramp
Oh yeah for got to say don't fall off your ski or let your feet dangle to long .a guy fishing down there in may when we went caught a 5ft to 6ft bull shark by the bridge .must go to Eat places if you like sea food is ..sea and suds in gulfshores .or docs .docs is off the road with the water tower well it's at the end stright ahead.these two places are locals not tourist traps ...if no one eles helps ya out .the guys I talked to at one time were on pwctoday .have fun we love it down there
Thanks for the info, I have a beach cart, so we can unload anywhere, I just didn't know if they have designated areas to ride like Florida. I was assuming it's more like Texas and you can ride just about anywhere want, but idk.
As far as I know no you can not launch from the condo/beach but you can pull up on the beach.that's what I have been told .. .you better have a good size gas tank from the boat ramp to your hotel/condo cuz it's kinda far either way from that ramp to the ocean..now with all that beening said ..I don't see why you can't lauch a ski from your condo ..if you hide the beach kart how in the hell will anyone know besides the people in your hotel /condo .
I asked one of the guys that have a jetski rental place down by gulfshores is where I got that info from .I said jetski and he said no then I said stand-up ski and he looked at me funny like what the hell is that and I just turned my back and walked off
Give a Update or photos when ya get down there ...I'm going to tell ya as well .now that I think of it there is beach potrol or something that cruise the beach in the morning and evening .if they ask you drove your ski up to where you are and your kart is a cooler dolly .hide gas cans for sure
2 days ago. Most of the bay is now idle speed only near the pass. When you go out the pass the best break is to the East (Left) this is also state park land. Less crowded. Can even tote your ski but it a long tote to water. Food. Original Oyster House. Sea-N-Suds, Flippers on Canal Road), Crab Trap, Tacky Jack's.
