Hey yaw,
I'm curious what does everyone consider a acceptable clearances when aligning the Motor and Midshaft using Billet Couplers? I know what the factory specs are but a height difference (Dim A) of 0.039" seems excessive. Personally I try to have no more than a 0.005 " difference in height. The factory spec for the distance between the Couplers (Dim B) seems reasonable enough and I shoot for around 0.100". However the spec says nothing about an acceptable tolerance for the distance between Couplers when measured from the top, bottom, left and right and this is where I am getting bogged down the most. I was able to get the spacing between the Couplers on my XFR between 0.100" and 0.106". So there is at most a 0.006" difference in the distance between the Couplers when measuring from the top, bottom, left and right.
I really just want to know if I am close enough or do I need to spend even more time shimming? It took most of a day to get it that close. Lol
