Other Alternative for 5200?

I went to Lowes and Home Depot and can't find any 5200. Do you guys think that Loctite PL Premium Polyurethane Construction Adhesive will work in place of 5200? Thanks.

I looked at my Home Depot a while back and they didn't carry it. Or I just couldn't find it. I gave up and went to West Marine and handed over my wallet.

Yeah some have it and some don't. Some Walmarts have it too but it's rare. If you have a Ace Hardware, they often carry it.

i think anything 2 part is better than 5200. actually when i was a noob, i read everyone used 5200 and it was the bomb. So i used it, but didn't understand the hype. 5200 sets slow (fast cure is slow imo) and if you put it on to thick it skins over sealing out the air that allows it to set, i pulled a part off after a year of riding and it was not hard to remove and the thickest area was still not setup after a year. i actually am dead set against the stuff now and tell everyone about pc-11 or someother type of 2 part that chemically cures.

Thanks guys after I couldn't find any 5200 yesterday I went and bought pc11. Then this morning I read this thread and people are using it also. Thanks again for everyones imput.

I used Right Stuff by permatex on my lines in the tray. That stuff is pretty good. I had an XPL that had the ride plate installed with it. Had to pry it off. Its expensive but I had it laying around so I used it. I use it to mount bilge pumps too.

I would not use PL premium, not made to be use underwater, but ask for urethan sealer at your autopart. The one they use for windshield. I don't remember exactly to products number I used last time, but it was alot easier to apply than 3M products and seals great
