Aluminum pump shoe for SJ
Want to buy an aluminum pump shoe ASAP!! XR-Tech is sold out and I really wanted one of those since I've heard of issues with the Jet Dynamics/Blowsion shoes not fitting very well and the R&D hangs real low to scoop more water and is designed more aggressively but the extra drag keeps the nose down... Basically the JD, Blowsion, R&D all require grinding but I'm not sure about the Worx or XR-tech. Let ms know what you have and also any feedback on fitment experience

I've used only the Jet Dynamics shoe that Blowsion sells.
It fit just fine into my Freak, but: it is far from a finished product.
1. Holes for the screws are not drilled. There are divots where they should be, but final lineup and drilling is up to you.
2. Holes for the intake grate must be drilled and tapped.
3. It hangs far too low (about 3/8"). Lots of grinding take care of that.

It takes a bit of work to get it to fit your application, but it's a good rough template for custom projects for that reason. I used mine to properly fit a 148 mag pump into a Freak.
If you're just looking for a stock replacement or 144 pump fit, you could probably do better elsewhere.

I'm using it to fit a Solas 144 msg pump in a carbon Freak. I don't mind drilling and tapping but would prefer a tight flush fit without grinding just to ensure it's symmetrical. If that's not an option with an aluminum pump shoe then I'll just have to deal with that.

Well - the JD shoe fit great into my freak without much grinding at all, other than the bottom.

Haha I just saw that thread! He just happened to bump it with new pics. These aluminum pump shoes also come with 140mm I.D. For the options on running a 140 mag or a 144 and larger pump that would just require boring to the required diameter (if you want perfect flow and pump diameter)

I'm interested in seeing some more opinions on the other pump shoes.Kind of surprised more guys haven't said much.l've used xrtech twice now with good results.blowsion, jet dynamics,R&D also sell shoes.Anyone else?

And can you talk about install, quality, alignment, how much grinding and finish work had to be done.l can start:

The xrtech shoe needed to be ground down.l spent about an hour smoothing the rough areas down. Not a big issue. No problem with fitment on the tunnel. The worx scoop grate holes lined up too.l also had to grind the worx grate down (same as the xr) But still a quality product.

l also like dealing with the small guys on here.Straight to their pocket.

I was really trying to buy an XR-Tech but just heard back from him today and they are sold out and not sure when there will be more made. Blowsion pump shoes are made by Jet Dynamics... I've never heard anything about the Worx pump shoe...

I had the same problem. Im trying to drop one in a Rickter. Any advice or pointers on which path to go would be great!

I'm thinking this must not be a interesting subject! No one really interested?

listen to matt. i had the exact same issues to a T! go plastic

Fu(k the plastic. I want to do this once while the hull is empty and not have to worry about it again. Grinding to fit and boring to proper size sucks but at least it's a permanent solution! Plastic was not an option

I would love to put a plastic one in my ski but my intake doesn't mount to it so no need to worry about it breaking.
