thanks.thats what i needed to know.i got the bearing thing figured out btw.it was just this really heavy duty grease i was using.its got a 625degree flash point.got if from a friend that works at Royal Oil.really thick cause its cold out.and it just made the bearings a little tighter.but still spins easy and silently.
thicker isnt always better. i use synthetic quicksilver oil that a lot of seadoos run.
i use it because when i pulled my old bearings out, most of the grease was slung out of them and packed everywhere else. while my pump was out i held it vertical and filled most of the cavity with the gear oil (cant recall what weight, but synthetic quicksilver). i left maybe an inch so at the top while still vertical, then placed my cone on. i did this so there is a little room for expansion. gear oil seems more applicable to me and has worked well for over a year. i inspected my bearings and changed the oil a few months ago, and i expect them to last another year or more.
